I designed this green home with local sustainable resources. There are many creative ideas used throughout to make this home truly unique. Like the cracked mud walls made from sheet rock mud and clay dug up during the septic tank installation. Fossils were placed in the still wet mud walls giving them a old fashioned effect. The fir beams, redwood wainscot, and wood floors were all milled from trees that stood where the house is now. Red and Port Orford Cedar side the home. The horizontal red cedar boards have the live edge left on, giving an organic "grew that way" feel. Following that idea the red cedar shakes near the top of the exterior walls are placed anywhere but level and in a straight line. The more unique and creative the project the better!
